Use your pickaxe on the ore node that the miner job spawns in front of. It will drop an ore. You need to touch this ore to a mining crate that you can buy in the entities tab of the F4 menu. it will store a certain number of ores. When it is full bring it around the corner to the ore-buyer crate and place your mining crate on top of it to receive a bag of cash.
